“For kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
I Timothy 2:2.
When the Spirit of God commands us to pray for all men, it’s not for their sakes but for our sakes. See what he says here, “So that you may lead a quiet and peaceful life.” So that you may prosper without corruption or begging anyone, he says pray for all men, for kings and all who are in authority.
In this part of the world like in others, there is so much corruption going on. People demand all kinds of stuff from you just so you can make headway in life. Now the truth is we complain about them but we don’t realise we are the ones to change it.
How do we change the corrupt attitude that is becoming like a religion? We can when we pray for all men.
Imagine you take time to pray for the people in the office you are going to today, or those that have to deal with your documents. You pray that they will come under the influence of the Spirit and they will act right where you are concerned.
Like I said yesterday, pray till you begin to hear the Lord concerning them. Pray for your boss, pray for the head of department, the directors and chairman of the company. No more complaining that they don’t treat you right, have you intensely prayed for them?
Pray for our president and political leaders. These people need to be under the influence of God to take any right decision. Don’t expect them to do anything right if you have not found out from the Lord what their purpose is.
Elections are coming this weekend, how many of you have asked the Lord who you should vote for? Isn’t the earth the Lord’s again? Doesn’t He give rulership to the one He chooses to? So why haven’t you asked Him for His opinion and not just listen to the noise makers?
If you have your voters card, take a day before the election and fast, ask the Lord to reveal to you the people He has chosen for this next phase of Nigeria and trust me, He will.
God bless you,
